Hello, if you have come here then it means that you are curious to know who I am. I will try to satisfy this desire of yours.
I was born in Salerno in 1973. I had a normal life without any particular traumas. After middle school, despite considerable pressure to convince me to attend the scientific high school for strong aptitudes in scientific subjects, I did my own thing and continued my studies in a commercial technical institute obtaining a diploma in accounting. Thanks to a valuable Italian teacher I was able to appreciate literature and history, managing to make me passionate about these subjects. After graduating, I decided to revolutionize my course of study by enrolling in the degree course in Information Science. I remember that it was then that I had the confirmation that in life you have to make choices alone and not let others choose for you: just think that, even if there were “strong aptitudes in scientific subjects”, I felt advised against such a choice because of too much mathematics.
However, not to brag, I have achieved the coveted degree.
Within a month, I catapulted myself into the role of emigrant and moved first to Genoa and then to Milan to work.
After almost thirty years I returned to my native land recovering the scents and ancestral habits.
If you allow me, now I’ll tell you the two things I like to do: poetry and computer science.
I must confess that I have always liked writing, taking refuge in invented stories to understand myself. I remember that I wrote a short story in 1980 with a typewriter and it took me a few hours to complete it without typos. What I have left is the final satisfaction that filled me with the pride of a child. Then, there were “dark” years in which I gave vent to my other passion: after all, they were the years of the first video games and the legendary Commodore 64. The passion for computer science was born after a few months that I had a Commodore 64 as a gift: I stopped playing and started programming. Then, a few years later there was the boom of the personal computer (the 8086, the Pentium, the BBS, and then Gopher and the Internet….). Ah, how my heart beats and my nerd soul comes out. Then the degree, but I have already told you, programming languages, windows 3.1, os/2 …
Now I have started again dividing my time between the two passions.
Some information about my work.
I‘m working in the IT field for over 20 years. I am presently involved in strategic consulting, systems administration and application development. Now I’m focused on data and e-mail migrations. I am also concentrating on security and data governance on Microsoft 365. I have consolidated skill on Lotus Notes/Domino and Microsoft environments.
